What You’re Going to Do:
As our Sustainability Support Specialist, you will help shape the environmental and social responsibility strategy for our platform and community.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Research, design, and promote sustainability best practices tailored to vacation rental businesses.
- Develop educational resources, toolkits, and templates for hosts and property managers.
- Talk with property managers about eco-friendly holiday homes, solar-driven campers and electric boats.
- Evaluate and recommend eco-friendly products, certifications, and operational processes.
- Work with the product team to integrate sustainability insights into our software solutions.
- Build and manage community initiatives promoting sustainable hosting.
- Support data collection and reporting on measurable sustainability outcomes.
- Identify partners (eco-product vendors, certification bodies, NGOs) and coordinate collaborations.
- Communicate trends, insights, and recommendations to internal teams and community members.
Bonus If You Have Experience With:
- Hospitality management systems and OTAs (Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, etc.)
- Property management software (e.g., Guesty, Hostaway, Mews)
- Startups, Scale-ups or fast-paced tech environments

Stage 1: Intern / Junior Sustainability Support Specialist
At this stage, you’ll:
Industry Knowledge
- Understand the hospitality market (Domits, Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com)
- Learn glossary and key performance metrics: occupancy rate, RevPAR, ADR, NOI
- Understand guest experience expectations and what drives 5-star reviews
- Study competitors and regional/local market dynamics
- Understand sustainability challenges and opportunities unique to vacation rentals (energy use, waste, linen cycles, water, community impact).
Skills Development
- Build core sustainability competencies: research, data collection, best-practice evaluation, writing sustainability guidelines, and understanding certification frameworks.
